Open Doors is volunteer led, and provides support network for people to help themselves and each other in taking the next step in their lives, whatever that may be. Open Doors started out as a Job Club supporting our Active Inclusion Employability project however it has since grown to include all aspects of getting people online from Job searching to learning how to use social media as part of DVSC’s commitment to the Digital Inclusion Charter. We have laptops available for people to come use or you can bring your own tablets/smart phones and our volunteers will guide you through how to use them. We also offer advice and help to find volunteering placements, information about further learning opportunities available in the area.
As this is a volunteer led project to develop skills and knowledge within the community we invite all members with a skill to share to bring it to the group – whether it be Salsa dancing or crafting we will provide the space for you to show off your passion. We will also be running short courses and taster sessions from energy efficiency to grow your own: Keep an eye on the activities timetable to see what’s happening.
Open Doors runs every Friday at our offices in the Naylor Leyland Centre, Well Street, Ruthin; 1PM-3PM. All are welcome to pop in and come and have a chat and a cuppa and see how we can help you help yourself.
