Cooking Volunteer

Volunteers who are interested in helping others to learn how to cook and bake.

Cooking on a budget is an important skill. Vale of Clwyd Mind organises regular cooking lessons to help people to eat more healthily and learn new skills. This might include shopping for ingredients, and then cooking, baking or learning about bottling fruit or jam making. Produce grown on our allotments is often used in these sessions – and then we eat the food!

Volunteers do not need qualifications but need to follow the general cleanliness, health and safety rules set by the support worker. General skills including helping the support worker provide the right equipment for the session and clearing up afterwards. You need to be a good listener, respect confidentiality and have a commitment to inclusion and treating people from all backgrounds with dignity.

Travel expenses and any other related out of pocket expenses are paid.
